ciao!

We are Valentina and Cristina

Two friends who are passionate about hospitality, art and design.

The CARAVANILIA project was born out of the desire to give people the opportunity to truly experience for themselves the unique nature of our special properties.

Our properties

Ferrara is our hometown – the place where it all began. Our apartment in the garden of a traditional residence in the historic centre of town is the centrepiece of our three properties: Home, Studio and the most recent addition: Habito.

Florence, home to some of the world’s best art, was Valentina’s home throughout her university years.
Our Pitti 8 property was the result of a design collaboration with a university classmate. The apartment, facing Palazzo Pitti, can now accommodate 4 guests and each element was thoughtfully created by local craftsmen.

Sardinia is a dream come true. The concept of Surfhouse was born out of a shared love of travel and surfing, which inspired the creation of S’Ard.
The property is located in San Pasquale, a traditional village located on top of a hill between Paulau and Santa Teresa di Gallura which look out onto the archipelagos of Maddalena and Corsica.
The name S’Ard derives from author Sergio Atzeni’s latest romance novel, ‘passavamo sulla terra leggeri’ (‘lightly we passed across the Earth’). S’ards are the star dancers, the ancient inhabitants of Sardinia.

TheCortina d’Ampezzo, apartment in the Dolomites, facing the group of mountains called the Tofane, is the most sentimental property, with family memories of long walks in the mountains and fun days in the snow.

The Style of the Apartments

The common stylistic theme of our apartments which dictated our design choices is the Colonial style, interpreted in different ways depending on the residence.

The Colonial style is a style that blends different cultures, traditions and elements. The style of the colonising nations would be integrated into that of the countries where they settled, creating a very unexpected fusion.

Therefore, we loved the idea of pairing some exotic elements with a more pared back and traditional style of furniture. And to capture the feeling of distant travels, even when we aren’t able to.
